Also known as air hoists. Pneumatic are very similar in features to an electric chain hoist but they are powered by compressed air feed.  Furthermore they are restricted by the need for a suitable electric power supply.

Electric Hoists are used for lifting or lowering material.  Firstly electric chain hoists use an electric motor.  Secondly they use a controller to lift, lower and accelerate or decelerate the speed.

WHAT IS A MANUAL HOIST ?

They use self-gripping jaws instead of spools to move rope or wire through the winch.  By moving a handle back and forth, they allow one person to move objects several tons in weight.
